Actor, producer, and director Niraj Chauhan, along with his team, initiated the Akhand Jyoti (eternal flame) as a symbolic gesture towards their call for a Hindu Rashtra.

Marking this one-of-a-kind promotional campaign, the temple premises saw a magnificent 20-foot poster of the film being unveiled by saints and spiritual leaders. This grand spectacle not only celebrated the film’s upcoming release but also reflected its deep-rooted themes of faith, sacrifice, and devotion. During the event, Niraj Chauhan emphasized the film’s core message of respecting nature and protecting animals, urging people to contribute to the Akhand Jyoti by bringing a single matchstick from every Hindu household—an act signifying the collective strength of faith.

Mandi, March 27 th , 2025; IIT Mandi has announced applications for its M.A. in Development

Studies, a novel two-year program under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of IIT

Mandi. This specialized program gives students an up-close insight into the opportunities and

challenges of the Himalayan region, mixing theoretical perspectives with practical research and

fieldwork.

The program, with 80-credit coursework, promotes local, regional, and international issues

associated with development, sustainability, and empowerment in the Himalayan belt. Moreover,

selected students can opt for the M.A+ Ph.D. Dual Degree, which further refines their research

skills in the subject.

Apart from intellectual education, the School of Humanities and Social Science of IIT Mandi

plays an active role in empowering local communities within the Kamand area, adjoining the

campus area, by organizing different training programs to make people self-sufficient.

Dr. Surya Prakash Upadhyay, Chairperson, the School of Humanities & Social Science, IIT

Mandi, said, “MA in Development Studies is a unique program, designed with a special focus on

the Himalayan region. This two-year program provides an opportunity for students to conduct

research on various aspects of the Himalayan region while providing developmental and

practical work along with actual studies in the Himalayan regions, which have both local,

regional and global relevance. Additionally, the course also offers candidates an option to apply

for an M.A.+ Ph.D. Dual Degree at IIT Mandi, which offers a seamless transition into advanced

Preeti Puri Choudhary, who portrays Kajal Poddar Bansal in Rajan Shahi’s
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, shares her experience of being part of the
long-running show and the positive energy that keeps her motivated.

For Preeti, stepping onto the set of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai feels
like coming home. “A typical day on set is a big scene in the Poddar
hall, and we all love shooting together. The set vibes are very positive
and good. In fact, all the actors and crew maintain a family-like
atmosphere, which drives me to come to the set daily.”

She strongly believes that working with like-minded people creates a
productive environment. “Everybody works for the betterment of the
scene.” She also emphasizes the importance of chemistry with co-stars.
“It is very important because it gives a lot of comfort while doing a
scene.”

Preeti praises Director’s Kut Production for its transparency and
support. “From the start, the production house has always communicated
things clearly to all the cast members. Whatever we want to convey, we
can directly tell them, which gives us a lot of comfort on set.”

The actress acknowledges how television continues to adapt. “TV shows
are evolving, and it’s great that the industry has managed to keep up
with changing times.” She also stresses the importance of catering to
the audience’s expectations. “It is important to change because the
audience’s liking reflects on the progress of the show.”

Reflecting on her journey, Preeti notes how she has evolved as an actor.
“I have grown through playing so many characters, and all want to thank
all the directors who has helped me through out my career and even
personal life experiences have helped in my growth.”

With her strong belief in teamwork, communication, and adaptability,
Preeti Puri Choudhary continues to bring depth to her role in Yeh Rishta
Kya Kehlata Hai, making her presence felt in the show’s compelling

Raj Kundra Calls it a Wrap on Rakesh Mehta’s Film ‘Mehar’, Shares a Celebration Post on Social Media

Raj Kundra is foraying into the Punjabi film space with his maiden project ‘Mehar’. Earlier, he announced the filming for the same in Mohali, and within thirty days, Raj Kundra has now completed the film’s shoot. Along with the cast, Raj has called it a wrap and took to his social media handle to share the celebration. 

Raj Kundra shared a video with the film’s cast, showcasing them celebrating the shoot’s completion. Apart from the video, the caption read, “It’s a wrap! 30 days of hard work, passion, and unforgettable memories on Mehar! Big cheers to the entire team for making this journey incredible. 

Directed by acclaimed Punjabi filmmaker Rakesh Mehta, the actor will be seen playing a distinct role in ‘Mehar’. The film, revolving around love, friendship, and life, also stars Geeta Basra, Master Agamveer Singh, Baninder Bunny, Savita Bhatti, Rupinder Rupi, Deep Mandeep, Ashish Duggal, Hobby Dhaliwal, Tarsem Paul, and Kulvir Sony. ‘Mehar’ is presented by DB Digitainment and Raghu Khanna. Actor Srikant Dwivedi, who is currently seen as Lord Vishnu in Shiv
Shakti-Tap Tyag Tandav, shares his love for cows. It’s not every day we
hear of a calf as a pet.  But Srikant has that in his hometown. So we
asked him what inspired you to have a calf as a pet? He says, ”In our
family, it has always been a tradition to keep cows at home. We make
sure to provide them with the best care possible. This also allows us to
enjoy pure dairy products like milk and butter. In today’s world,
finding anything pure is rare, especially when it comes to food. That’s
why we prioritize feeding our cows good-quality food and taking care of
them properly.We believe in the concept of karma—what you give is what
you get. Since childhood, I’ve been taught how to look after cows and
their calves. It’s not just about taking care of them but also the
values you learn. According to Hindu tradition, cows are considered
sacred and are often referred to as “Gau Mata.” Serving them feels like a
blessing, and it brings a sense of fulfillment. Their blessings are
precious, and taking care of them feels like an act of good karma.”
Srikant’s calf’s name is Gauri – named by his father. He adds,”Whether
it’s a calf, dog, cat, or any other pet, people choose them based on
what they like. Personally, I love being around cows and calves. There’s
a unique peace that comes from taking care of them and being kind to
them.Since childhood, my father raised me with the values of caring for
animals. I’ve always helped in preparing their food, giving them fodder,
and providing for their needs. There’s a specific plant called
berseem—tiny green plants—which we feed them so they grow strong and
healthy. I used to cut it from the field myself and feed them.Taking
care of cows, preparing their food, and simply being around them brings a
special kind of peace. I completely agree that caring for animals adds a
sense of calm and positivity to life.”

So is there any difference in having a calf as a pet?
On
this Srikant says,”My friends and others really appreciate this part of
my life. They enjoy hearing stories about my village and how things
work there. We have our own cows and buffaloes, so we never have to buy
milk or dairy products from outside.This feels like such a privilege,
especially in today’s times, because keeping cows or buffaloes in cities
is almost impossible. Even if you try, you need proper fields and
resources, which are easily available in villages or smaller towns.I
feel truly blessed to have a base in my hometown where we can care for
animals. It’s also a family tradition that has been passed down for
generations. For me, it’s not just about the dairy products—it’s also a
personal passion that gives me a deep sense of satisfaction and joy.”

Srikant
shares the best thing his pet has taught him is patience. He
says,”Apart from patience they have also shown me how to live in harmony
with nature.The containtment and simplicity pets bring to life are
truly priceless. They teach you the value of rest and how to appreciate
little things. There’s so much one can learn from pets. These lessons,
like patience, kindness, and living in harmony, are some of the most
valuable things I’ve learned from having a pet, whether it’s a dog, a
calf, or any other animal. In the future, I’d love to have a small cow
barn or a proper cowshed. I’ve always dreamt of having cows and starting
my own small dairy farm. My idea is to take good care of them and
provide them with the best environment. I also want to have a house with
a field where they can graze freely and have enough space for their
food and overall well-being. It’s something I truly look forward to.”
