New Delhi [India], February 10 : As India’s fashion market evolves toward refined minimalism and purpose-driven design, premium women’s western wear label DELAN has introduced a new brand narrative titled “Suns and Shadows,” reflecting the growing appetite for understated elegance, versatility, and modern sophistication among urban consumers.

The title “Suns and Shadows” feels expansive and cinematic, hinting at contrast, depth, and movement. It evokes a collection shaped by many moments bright, unapologetic highs and quieter, introspective lows. The name captures duality: light versus dark, softness versus strength, stillness versus drama. It works beautifully for pieces that play with multiple colours, varied textures, and bold statements, allowing each garment to exist in its own mood while remaining part of a cohesive story.

The concept marks a strategic creative shift for DELAN, offering a more cinematic and expressive visual language while remaining anchored in the brand’s core philosophy of quiet luxury fashion that prioritises craftsmanship, comfort, and timeless appeal over fast-moving trends. “Suns and Shadows” feels fluid rather than rigid, like a journey through changing light across time, immersive, poetic, and editorial in its tone.

The collection explores contrast as a storytelling device light and depth, softness and structure mirroring the everyday realities of contemporary women navigating professional and personal spaces. The shoot demonstrates how premium western wear can feel elevated through refined silhouettes, premium fabrics, and subtle detailing, rather than overt embellishment.

Founded by Vikas Kumar Sardana, Founder and Creative Director, DELAN draws on more than two decades of experience across apparel manufacturing and retail. Beginning his career in surplus and retail apparel in 2008, Sardana gained deep operational insight into fabric quality, consumer behaviour, fit engineering, and durability insights that later shaped DELAN’s design-first approach.

Launched in 2022, the brand was conceived to address a visible gap in India’s premium western wear space: clothing that blends elegance with real-world wearability. From breathable fabrics and structured tailoring to versatile colour palettes, DELAN positions itself for women seeking wardrobe longevity rather than seasonal novelty.

‘Suns and Shadows’ represents the rhythm of everyday life strong moments, softer transitions, and everything in between,” Sardana notes. “Our designs are created for real environments workdays, meetings, social gatherings not just curated photoshoots. This campaign brings that reality into a modern, visual narrative.”

The brand’s strategy aligns with a broader shift in India’s premium apparel sector. With consumers increasingly quality-conscious, investment dressing focused on comfort, durability, and multi-use styling is gaining momentum over trend-driven fashion cycles. Working professionals, in particular, are prioritising adaptable western wear that seamlessly transitions from daytime formal to evening casual.

Industry observers note that minimalist aesthetics, premium fabric experiences, and functional design have emerged as decisive purchase drivers, signalling a maturing fashion market that values craftsmanship alongside visual appeal.

Through “Suns and Shadows,” DELAN reinforces its product-centric positioning, highlighting precision fit, thoughtful construction, and fabric excellence while introducing a contemporary creative identity that reflects confidence, depth, and modern femininity.

As India’s premium western wear segment continues to expand, brands rooted in quality-led design and lifestyle relevance are increasingly shaping the next phase of fashion consumption. DELAN’s latest narrative signals a commitment to building enduring wardrobes, not fleeting trends, for the evolving Indian woman.

Jaipur: On the second day of India Stone Mart 2026, the Jaipur Architecture Festival 2026 was ceremoniously inaugurated at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Diya Kumari, described the festival as a platform that gives global recognition to Rajasthan’s architectural heritage, stone industry, and craft traditions. She said that whether it is the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Akshardham, historical monuments, religious sites, or prestigious hotels and buildings across the world—if one observes closely, the stone used in most of them is from Rajasthan. It is a matter of immense pride for the state that the soil and stone of Rajasthan are visible across the globe.

The formal inauguration at the Mugdha Convention Hall began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The occasion witnessed the presence of renowned architects from India and abroad, policymakers, industry representatives, and senior officials from institutional organizations on the dais.

While addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said it was a matter of pride for her to honour such a large and distinguished group of architects on one platform. She expressed her gratitude to Laghu Udyog Bharati for inviting her to this grand event and thanked the organizers. Speaking about Shilpgram, she said that providing such a large platform and dedicated space to small artisans and handicraft craftsmen is a commendable initiative. It will not only give artisans, students, and youth an opportunity to learn, but will also open new avenues for exporters. She added that in the coming years, the event could take an even broader form and should be organized for a longer duration instead of being limited to four days. Emphasizing the vision of “Development as well as Heritage,” she stressed the need to integrate traditional architecture with modern architectural practices.

On the inauguration of the Jaipur Architecture Festival 2026, the Deputy Chief Minister said that this event is a significant opportunity for those associated with Rajasthan’s handicrafts, handloom, and marble industries. She noted that Rajasthan is the home of handicrafts, and such platforms are essential to further strengthen this sector, which still needs greater focus and development.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Development as well as Heritage,” she said that architectural designs and elements found in old historical buildings should be adopted in new constructions. She suggested that in the coming years, such festivals should be organized for up to ten days instead of being restricted to four days, so that more people can benefit from them.

She further said that Jaipur is globally known for architecture and is the world’s first planned city. Being associated with such a city, which holds a special place in global architecture, is a matter of pride. She added that not only in India but also in many historic and iconic buildings across the world, stone from Rajasthan has been used—an achievement that brings great pride to the state.

Diya Kumari also said that legends from the world of architecture are present at this festival, and getting the opportunity to honour them is a proud moment for her. Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : In an era where
the sacred traditions of Indian classical music are tenderly guarded by
dedicated custodians, the Naushad Academy of Hindustani Sangeet stands as a
beacon of cultural preservation. On the evening of Saturday, January 31st,
2026, the attendees resonated with the timeless strains of a Sitar-Tabla
Jugalbandi that transported a mesmerized audience to a bygone era of musical
purity.

The recital featured the virtuosity of world renowned Sitarist
Bhagirath Bhatt
and the rhythmic brilliance of eminent Tabla
player Manas Vora
. Their performance was not merely a concert but a
testament to the enduring vitality of the classical tradition, maintained today
through the unwavering patronage of institutions like the Naushad Academy.

A Tapestry of Raags and Rhythm

The evening commenced with the melancholic grandeur of Raag Kirwani.
Bhatt unfolded the raag with a beautifully structured Alap, Jod, and
Jhala,
allowing the warm, resonant strains of the sitar to
permeate the silence. His intricate finger work crisscrossed the frets, weaving
a rich tapestry of sound that shifted effortlessly from serene introspection to
powerful rhythmic vibrancy.

The narrative then transitioned to Raag Charukeshi,
rendered with remarkable depth and finesse. Bhatt presented a mesmerizing
bandish set to a rare 9-matra taal, followed by a spirited
bandish in Drut Teen Taal. It was here when Manas Vora’s tabla
entered the dialogue, blending seamlessly with the melodic flow of the sitar.

The resulting Jugalbandi was a display of electric chemistry—a rhythmic
dialogue of energy, texture, and precision. The interplay generated waves of
pure musical energy, oscillating between the contemplative and the
exhilarating, transporting listeners to heightened states of ecstasy. The
escalating tempos and complex rhythmic patterns reflected the artist’s profound
understanding of the Hindustani classical idiom.

A Homage to Legends

The recital concluded on a soulful note with a bandish in Raag Mishra
Pahadi. In a moments of deep emotional resonance, Bhatt rendered the iconic
composition “Udja Kale Kawan,” paying a heartfelt tribute to
its creator, the legendary composer Shri Uttam Singh Jee, who was present in
the audience. This moving homage stood out as one of the evening’s most
memorable highlights.

World-renowned composer and Music Director Shri Uttam Singh
Jee remarked, ‘Having witnessed numerous sitar performances, I was deeply
impressed by Bhagirath Bhatt’s mastery over his instrument, and Manas was
equally good on tabla. Bhagirath Jee’s playing was truly soulful and
spellbinding. If and when given a chance, I certainly will have Bhagirath Jee
play for me in the times ahead.’

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rehman Naushad observed,
‘It was an honour to witness and be part of this exceptional recital. Bhagirath
Bhatt Sahab has an immensely bright future ahead of him, much like that of Shr
Ravi Shankar Jee. I wish him every success.

Esteemed composer and producer Shri Gurmeet Singh (son
of Uttam Singh) shared the story of the duo’s discovery: Through a
recommendation, I watched Bhagirath Bhatt Jee’s performances on YouTube and was
instantly struck by how tuneful yet technically accomplished he is. My team
immediately reached out to him, he was overwhelmed and accepted to perform. I
was truly mesmerised by the duo’s performance and look forward to many future
collaborations.
